Removing a user from your WordPress website can be done in just a few clicks. This is useful if you'd like to clean up un-needed users, or have had spam signups which you would need to remove.
The first thing you're going to want to do is login to your WordPress admin area and click on "Users".
Once you've done that, you will be presented with a list of all users on your website. You can choose to only show particular roles, or if you know the username or email address of the user you wish to delete, you can search using the search box in the top right.
Once you've located the WordPress user you would like to delete, simply hover your mouse over the username, you will see the "Delete" link shown in red. Click on "Delete" and you will be presented with a confirmation page.
If the user you are deleting has content (posts/pages) owned/published by them, you will be asked to assign these to a new user or delete them, if they do not have any posts/pages owned by them, you will just be offered a button to confirm deletion.
Click on the "Confirm Deletion" button to delete the user.
Please Note: Deleting a user and their posts without assigning them to another user cannot be undone within your WordPress admin panel, ensure you are 100% sure you wish to proceed before deleting.
If you delete in error, you will need to contact your WordPress Host and ask them to restore a backup.
